SUE GLICK LIEBMAN lives her passion through her dedication to strengthening Jewish peoplehood, especially relationships among Jews in Israel and the Diaspora. Sue’s love affair with Israel began with her first trip to Israel in 1966, prior to the 1967 war. Sue’s past leadership roles include: President of the American Friends of Melitz, President of the Jewish Community Center, Chairing partnership communities in Israel through her involvement at The Associated, and serving on the Executive Committee of the first Maccabi youth games in Baltimore. Sue is dedicated to Jewish education and has chaired the Jewish Education Committee at The Associated as well. Sue and David’s family include their son Alan and his family who live in Jerusalem, their son Ed in NY and their daughter Lynn who lives in Baltimore.
DAVID LIEBMAN has shaped his leadership legacy in the greater Baltimore community through his generous commitments of time and financial support to many organizations. He has served on ACHARAI: The Shoshana S. Cardin Jewish Leadership Institute Board for over six years, and established along with his wife, Sue, a scholarship fund for organizations to send their leaders to the ACHARAI Fellows Program. David is former President of the Jewish Museum of Maryland, a community leader with the Maryland Sight for the Blind and the Lions Club, and has travelled with The Associated on missions to Israel, New Orleans, and Cuba. David and Sue also funded the Beit Midrash at the Owings Mills JCC and have been honored by the American Friends of the Weitzman Institute.
DAN HIRSCHHORN along with Shoshana Cardin, co-chaired the initial Associated-convened task force in 2001-’02 that envisioned a community-wide leadership development organization that became ACHARAI. Dan has been a member of the ACHARAI Board since its inception in 2005, and served as ACHARAI’s first President from 2007-’09 when it earned its independent 501(c)(3) status. Dan has served in several other volunteer leadership capacities in recent years, including as President of the David and Barbara B. Hirschhorn Foundation, President of the Board of The Park School, Chair of The Associated’s Center for Funds and Foundations, and Co-Chair, with his wife Gina, of the Everyman Theatre Capital Campaign. Dan is Chairman and President of American Trading and Production Corporation (Atapco), a fourth-generation family business. Dan and Gina, a senior vice president at Bank of America, live in Baltimore City with their twin 10th grade sons, Jacob and Aaron.
